There were 32 players who participated in the Everett Membership Drive tournament on Saturday September 21st – Sunday September 22nd and got their memberships renewed and extended for a full year! The new version of the USA Racquetball’s Official Rulebook that goes into effect on September 1, 2013 and covers all USAR sanctioned and non-sanctioned play in the USA. Also included are rule modifications for the IRT, LPRT, WOR, CPRT, NMRA, as well as for Wheelchair, Deaf, and Vision-impaired racquetball play.

This version includes four (4) rule changes approved at the May 2013 meeting of the USAR’s Board of Directors. They are:

The Northsound Shootout is back at the Everett YMCA on Saturday November 9th! This is a fun one-day shootout style event. All matches are played as the best two out of three games to 8 points, and all divisions are either round robin or pool play divisions with a playoff bracket at the end so you’ll get lots of court time and the chance to play a lot of different players. Sign up before October 19th, and take $5 off your entry fee!

WA Juniors Players Headed to Worlds!

We could not be prouder of two of our junior members! Hollie Scott and Jake Birnel are representing the United States on the National Junior Team in Bolivia in October, 2013. They earned the right to be members of the junior team their by their outstanding participation at Junior Nationals in June in Iowa State. Hollie placed 2nd in Girls 16 singles, while Jake claimed first place in Boys 16 singles. They also teamed up to take 1st in 16 Mixed Doubles. Both of them are great athletes …
