Upcoming Junior Events

24 August 2009 No Comment

We have settled in for the fall portion of our calendar for juniors. If you have any other events planned at your facility (sanctioned or non sanctioned) or would like to host a junior event, be sure and contact Wanda Collins of the Junior Committee. We are also working on transforming the WRA Junior Committee into the Washington Junior Racquetball Association, complete with non profit status – 501(c)(3). This will be a great benefit to juniors in the future.

Saturday, October 3
Racquets Without Borders Part I
REVS Club, Burnaby B.C. Canada

Saturday, December 5
Racquets Without Borders Part II
Bellingham Athletic Club, Bellingham, WA

This two part tournament is a great way to see how many juniors there really are in our state! We have had about 65-75 Canadian and U.S. players in the past, competing for their state and the perpetual plaque. Juniors in Bellingham would be happy to house you and your driver the night before the British Columbia event if you are travelling from farther away. Look for the entry form on our website the 2nd week of September, or let us know if you’d like one mailed to your home. Our junior fund will cover a large part of your entry fee.

After checking with the U.S. Border, it is not necessary to have a passport for kids under age 18. You DO need a birth certificate, however, as in the past. Anyone over 18, and any adults driving with the juniors must have a passport.

NON SANCTIONED EVENTS FOR JUNIORS
November 14-15, 2008
The Fall Classic Tournament
Bellingham Athletic Club

This tournament is for Adults and Juniors, so you can all enjoying playing! Here’s your chance to win a turkey, ham or pumpkin pie for the holidays.

ONE DAY JUNIOR CLINICS
Wanda Collins and Robert Allen of the Junior Committee are working together to present junior clinics at your facility!
This one day clinic would have a morning session for beginners and intermediates. An afternoon session would be geared for juniors who would like to be or are active in tournament play. If your facility would be interested, contact us now!
